Description

The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) is offering applications for the 2025 Wind Industry Internship Programme (WIIP), which supports South Africa's goals for a low-carbon economy and a climate-resilient society. This program aligns with South Africa's Just Energy Transition Investment Plan (JET IP) and the South African Renewable Energy Master Plan (SAREM). The internship aims to provide young graduates with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the renewable energy sector, placing 30 interns across member organizations. The eight-month program is open to individuals with backgrounds in fields like energy, electrical and mechanical engineering, natural sciences, administration, social sciences, and information technology.

Responsibilities

• Bridging the gap between graduation and employment by gaining hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector
• Contributing to the development of a low-carbon economy and a climate-resilient society
• Engaging in structured pathways and practical tasks to support the renewable energy transition in South Africa
• Collaborating with various teams and professionals across member organizations within SAWEA

Qualifications

• Engineering, natural Sciences, Administration, Social Sciences and Information Technology or related fields
